MR2 WRAII 31st May, Silverstone Circuit, 223 MR2 cavalcade, a new world record?

...Well we certainly hope so, we are currently awaiting the outcome from the formalities, but a strong turnout of 223 MR2s turned up and completed 3 laps of Silverstone Circuit, beating the previous attempt, we were asked to video the event to supply evidence footage and were also asked to sign a witness statement in order to verify the event... for now we sit and wait, fingers crossed, thanks to all of the organisers who made this happen, Silverstone Circuit, and for all you guys that turned up for a day to remember!

Team MR2 Only Mag were proud to be once again associated with JAE at it's new venue for 2009, weekend of the 11th - 13th September, I think it's fair to say that MR2s stole the show with a strong turn out from the MR2 OC, MR2 Village comprising IMOC, Mk1 Club, and Roadster Club, an impressive turnout from TWOBRUTAL, as well as MR2 appearances by TB Developments, and JDM Modified. Throughout the weekend my own two MR2 Turbos were on show at the MR2 Only Mag stand as well as several guest cars, starring the Century Marangoni world record MR2, a stunning sonic shadow Mk2 turbo, and caribbean blue Mk2 turbo, our very own Mark Thorpe's freshly kitted Mk3, and Toyota Sprint Series contenders Neil Lathams Mk1 20v. All in all a great weekend, only made all the better by glorious sunshine.

New World Record Attempt -
The Fastest MR2 in the World!

UK based Century Motorports Marangoni Toyota Street Drag Car sets new world 1/4 mile mark at Shakespeare Raceway covering the distance in 9.722 seconds with a terminal speed of 148mph.
